I started my landscape career when I was 17 years old attending a Technical High School for Environmental Sciences. I graduated with honors and received many scholarships to further my education. With a love for the outdoors and learning I quickly graduated SMSU of Missouri with a Bachelors of Science Horticulture degree in 1999. Throughout my school years I worked at landscape companies gaining invaluable experience in the field. Upon graduation I worked in the Retail Florist industry for about two years. From there I transferred to Big Cedar lodge in Southwest Missouri to work 2nd lead Horticulturist. Again eager to learn, I soaked up every opportunity possible gaining much knowledge in landscaping, irrigation, lawn maintenance, and even conducted the daily garden tours. From Big Cedar Lodge I moved back to my home town of St. Louis, MO and started a job as Manager and Designer of a local landscape company. After managing the local business for a couple of years I decided it was time to start my own company. In 2002 I started Lilacs & Lilies focusing on design work, small installations, and garden maintenance. In 2008, my husband and I moved to Northeast Mississippi where I transferred my business. Today, I still do some light garden maintenance because I love it too much to stop. But now focusing my business on personal attentive landscape/ garden designs as well fresh flowers for special event is my continued passion.
